SSC Code of Conduct & USA Swimming's Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy
Effective June 23, 2019, USA Swimming's MAAPP Policy becomes the de facto primary Code of Conduct for all USA Swimming Clubs.
Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (expires August 31, 2021) - Required policy for all members of SSC. This includes parents, 18 & over swimmers, minor swimmers, staff, and meet leadership teams. Please note this will be a required part of your registration process.
Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy 2.0 (effective September 1, 2021, or with completion of your 2021-2022 registration, whichever comes first) - Required policy for all members of SSC. This includes parents, 18 & over swimmers, minor swimmers, staff, and meet leadership teams. Please note this will be a required part of your registration process.
18 & Over Athlete Training Center
As of June 23rd, 2019, all 18 & over athletes are required to take a three-part Athlete Protection Training course via the USA Swimming website. To be more proactive, SSC is requiring all athletes to complete this requirement 30 days before their 18th birthday. After you take the three-part course linked above, you will read the policy at the top of this page and sign/return the following document to Coach Ben Wachtel: Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy Acknowledgement
Additionally, SSC has developed a supplemental Athlete Code of Conduct which we believe raises the bar even further for how we expect a Southeastern Swim Club member to behave at all times.
