Becoming a Certified USA Swimming Official

Did you know it takes about 8-10 volunteer officials to successfully run a swim meet?!

These officials are all volunteers, typically from the host or visiting clubs.

We are always looking for the next generation SSC volunteers to join our Officials team and continue to grow the excellent reputation of SSC, our meets, and our officials.

Our sport needs certified officials to ensure fairness and to make sure meets run efficiently. It is also an excellent opportunity to learn the sport, be on deck with your athlete and fulfill your SSC volunteer hours!

Full training and mentoring are provided throughout your Official career and the only commitment is to complete your SSC volunteer hour commitment during the year.

Training is all online and cn be started at any time during the year.

Age requirements

• Junior Stroke/Turn Officials (16-17 years old) can officiate at 12&U meets
• Stroke/Turn Officials (18 years and older)
